Building an Excel Grade Book from Web Advisor

 

Print and follow these instructions, or contact Karen Petitto, petitto@wvwc.edu, or Sue Roth, roth_s@wvwc.edu, for assistance.

 

1.                 Open a new Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet

 

2.                 Log into your WebAdvisor account at http://wwwalive.iceschools.org and select the roster you wish to use

 

3.                 Place your cursor in the small solid block in the upper left corner of the roster (see red arrow below) and left-click-drag to the bottom right corner selecting all rows and columns. The selected items will gain a darker background just behind the text.

 

4.                 Release the left mouse button and press the right mouse button to see a menu.  Select Copy from the menu that appears.

 

5.                 Return to the already opened but blank Excel Spreadsheet and a single cell that will become the upper left corner of your new Excel roster.

 

6.                 Select Paste Special under the Edit menu in Excel and choose the text option

 

7.                 The roster should be transferred to Excel complete with headings and all the information that was in the WebAdvisor form. You may now reformat and/or adjust the roster information as desired.
