Organizations Attending EOW 2008

The 2008 "Engaging Our World" Conference will be attended by many local, regional and national social justice organizations. For a preview of who is coming this year, check out the table below - those are just to name a few!

 

The Bonner Foundation seeks to transform the lives of students at twenty-seven colleges and universities across the United States, as well as their campuses and local communities by providing access to education and opportunities to serve.
Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad. By changing policies, programs and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist, we provide help and opportunity far beyond the communities in which we live.
CIRCLE (The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement) conducts research on the civic and political engagement of Americans between the ages of 15 and 25.
Lutheran Volunteer Corps, a national volunteer service program, partners with full-time volunteers and over 100 social justice organizations and ministries in twelve cities in the United States.   In addition to working for justice, LVC Volunteers live together in intentional household communities of 4-7 people, deepen their spirituality, and encourage simple, sustainable living.
Mountaintop Removal Roadshow is a stunning 22-minute slide show about the impacts of mountaintop removal on coalfield residents, communities and the environment, and features traditional Appalachian mountain music and shocking aerial photos of decapitated Appalachian mountains.
National Coalition for the Homeless engages in public education, policy advocacy, and grassroots organizing to end homelessness in the United States. They focus their work in the following 4 areas: housing justice, economic justice, health care justice, and civil rights.
Oxfam America is an international relief and development organization that creates lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and injustice. Together with individuals and local groups in more than 120 countries, Oxfam saves lives, helps people overcome poverty, and fights for social justice.
RESULTS is a nonprofit grassroots advocacy organization committed to creating the political will to end hunger and the worst aspects of poverty.
Ten Thousand Villages provides vital, fair income to Third World people by marketing their handicrafts and telling their stories in North America.
United Students for Fair Trade is a comprehensive global justice organization that is not only working to develop a new generation of Fair Trade leadership, but is also contributing substantially to the movement.
