Who is considered a commuter student at West Virginia Wesleyan College?
Any student who does not reside in any residence hall, fraternity house, GA housing or apartment on the campus or related to West Virginia Wesleyan College but commutes from their home.

How do I find out about what’s going on at WVWC?
Check your email for announcements and eMo’s daily. You may also check the Campus Activities Board Calendar and the Academic Calendar on the college website for information.

Where is a good place to study and/or do homework?
The library is the best place to do homework especially if you need to do research and have a quiet environment. However, the Cat’s Claw, located on the third floor of the Benedum Campus Center and Sunny Buck’s, located on the ground floor of Benedum are available for gathering and studying.  The Commuter & Study Lounge, located on the 3rd floor of the Benedum Campus Center (across from the Cat's Claw) is always available to be used for studying or just relaxing.

Where can commuter students go to hang out or relax?
Sunny Buck’s or the Cat’s Claw are two locations that you may hang out and relax. You can get snacks at Sunny Buck’s and the Cat’s Claw serves lunch from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and then are open as a gathering place from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. They reopen for dinner from 5:00 until 10:00 p.m.  Also, the Commuter & Study Lounge, which we mentioned prior is a great place to relax.  It is equipped with a television and lockers for your use.  Coffee is also available in the lounge.

Can commuter students use the health services?
Yes, of course. The Health Center is open Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

What do I do if I lose my ID card?
Go to the Student Affairs Dept., 2nd floor of Benedum Campus Center. They will be able to provide you with a new ID card. Check with security first and your mailbox to be sure no one has turned it in. There will be a charge for a new ID card, $15.00 cash or $20.00 if it is charged to your student account.

Will my student ID card let me into the residence halls?
No, the ID cards only work in the residence hall in which you live. This is for safety and security of our students.

Where can I park on campus?
The following are the guidelines for parking on the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College:

  • Yellow or Red markings or painted curbs indicate no parking at any time.
  • Blue curbs or stripes indicate handicap parking only.
  • White curbs or stripes indicate student parking only.
  • Orange curbs or stripes indicate fac/staff parking only.
  • Black curbs or stripes indicate multi-use parking - fac/staff, commuters or visitors only.

Lot #A - the oval parking lot in front of the chapel is designated as fac/staff, commuters and visitors parking only between the hours of 8:00 AM and 10:30 PM Monday thru Sunday. No over-night parking in this lot.  Commuters may also park in lots J and K located behind Camden Complex.

Commuters must purchase a registration decal from the Office of Campus Safety and Security for a fee of $75.00. This decal will permit a commuter to park in Lot #A, Lot  #J and  #K. Verification of your commuter status will be confirmed at the time of purchase.

As a commuter student, am I allowed to use the pool facilities?
Yes, the pool is open to all faculty, staff, and enrolled students.  Please check the schedule which is available at the Switchboard desk just outside of the pool.
