West Virginia Wesleyan College is accepting applications for a part-time (15 hours per week) Counselor in the Health and Counseling Center. The individual reports directly to the Director and will be responsible for providing individual counseling, sexual assault prevention, outreach programs for women, and crisis intervention.

A Master’s degree in counseling or social work and experience with young adults are required. National certification or state licensure and at least two years of experience are preferred.

A Bachelor’s degree is required with employment being contingent upon acceptance into a graduate program at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Internships - Athletic Training

West Virginia Wesleyan College is accepting applications for five (5) Athletic Training Internships. The internships will be on campus and in the Upshur County School system. The positions are 10-month, approximately 20 hours per week, and begin August 1, 2009. An undergraduate degree from a CAATE accredited program and NATABOC eligible are required, with certification being preferred. Two of the positions require certification prior to employment. Employment is contingent upon acceptance into the graduate program at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Interns receive a stipend.

Clinical Nursing Position (part-time)

The Department of Nursing at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia invites applications for a part-time clinical nursing position. This position may become a full-time position.

Nursing Faculty: Applications for Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing will be accepted until the position is filled. This is a part-time clinical position with opportunity for full-time employment beginning in 2010-2011.

Salary/Rank: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: The candidate must possess a Master’s in Nursing. Candidates with doctoral education in nursing or other relevant disciplines are encouraged to apply. MSN, current clinical experience, and a current WV nursing license/CPR certification are required. Previous teaching experience at the College level is a plus. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skill and commitment to a quality learning environment that nurtures students. Evidence of leadership and scholarship is preferred.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the faculty member include: clinical instruction for junior students admitted to the BSN program, overseeing students' clinical experience in family nursing and/or adult health at area hospitals/community based agencies, course/curriculum development, and student advisement. Other responsibilities include meeting College and professional discipline expectations for scholarship, active contribution to department and college councils and committees, and participation in recruitment activities and other nursing department activities. The candidate must support the mission and purpose of West Virginia Wesleyan College.
