Remote
Access to Library Resources
The Library offers a variety of resources through its website. Some
of these resources are freely available; others are subscription resources
available only to the WVWC community. If you have other questions about
remote access to library resources, please contact the librarian.
Freely available web services:
The Annie Online, the Library Catalog (library.wvwc.edu),
and all the Library's web pages (www.wvwc.edu/lib/) are freely available
online. Connect to these using
any Internet service to the World Wide Web. The library web pages also
contain numerous links to freely available Internet resources.
Licensed web services:
The Library subscribes to many licensed online services that restrict
access to authenticated members of West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Restricted services are marked with a paw print on the Library web
pages. These services check the Internet address of the user to make
sure the connection is coming from a registered WVWC network address.
If you are connecting to these services from AOL, Ntelos, or other
Internet Service Providers, you must verify that you are a licensed
user through the WVWC Off-Campus Proxy Server. After selecting a licensed
web service from off campus, you will be prompted to enter your WVWC
username and password. Be sure to enter your WVWC network password,
not a password for your local Internet provider. Contact the Computing

Electronic Reserves:
Electronic reserves are digital copies of material designated for use
in a particular course. While some electronic reserves are simply links
to materials freely available on the web, most are scanned documents
placed in the appropriate course section using the Angel Course Management
software. Access to these materials is limited to students enrolled
in a course, in
keeping
with
copyright
restrictions.
Electronic reserve readings can be accessed on- or off-campus though
Angel.
