Faculty and Staff Borrowers

All Library resources, including books, periodicals, media materials, equipment, and study space are available to college employees for use in the Library. A barcoded Wesleyan I.D. card is required for all Library circulation transactions. Barcodes are registered at the time of the employee's first loan. Employees may borrow Library materials under the following loan rules:

Circulating books are loaned for three weeks. Items may be renewed if no other patrons have requested them.

Employees will receive notices of overdue items. No fines are assessed. However, items overdue more than 60 days are assumed lost. Faculty and stadd will be billed for replacement cost of lost material.

Employees may have up to 50 items out on loan at one time.

Reference books circulate to faculty or staff members for one day. Up to five reference books may be borrowed at one time.

The current issue of any periodical is for use in the Library only. Faculty or staff members may borrow up to five past issues of periodicals for one day.

Videos are loaned for one week. No more than seven videos may be borrowed at one time. As with books, there is no fine on overdue videos but employees will be billed replacement cost of lost items.

Sound recordings may be borrowed under the same terms as circulating books.

Borrowing privileges are revoked for faculty or staff members with more than $200 outstanding billed for lost items. Items overdue more than 60 days are assumed lost.

Policy approved by WVWC Faculty Library Committee 10/10/95.
