Food and Drink Policy

Patrons are asked to confine any food to the first floor of the library, and to be considerate of your custodial staff, library staff and fellow library patrons. Smells and noise associated with food consumption are annoying to many patrons. In addition, food can damage library materials if it leaks or leads to stains, if grease marks are left on tables, books, etc. Spills, crumbs and garbage also attract rats, mice, and insects, which are harmful to library materials and create an unpleasant environment.

Drinks are permitted throughout the building as long as they are in covered containers. Please use spill-proof drink containers such as travel mugs, pull-top beverage containers, or bottles with caps to reduce the risk of damage to library collections and facilities.
