Jonas Jackson Named Head Football Coach

Thursday, September 29th, 2011

West Virginia Wesleyan Director of Athletics Ken Tyler announced today that Interim Head Football Coach Jonas Jackson has been named Head Football Coach, effective immediately.  Jackson was named interim coach when Denny Creehan resigned this summer to become Director of Athletics at Alderson-Broaddus College.

Jackson has led the Bobcats to a 4-0 start this season and they are currently tied for first place in the WVIAC.  Wesleyan travels to Lincoln University (PA) this weekend for their final non-conference contest.  They will host nationally ranked Shepherd University next Saturday, October 8 in Buckhannon.

Tyler commented, “Coach Jackson has done an outstanding job leading our football team both on and off the field.  We are very pleased that he will be our head coach as we continue to move the program forward.”
