West Virginia Wesleyan College’s School of Education students received top honors in the recent Kump Education Center’s “Education Research Seminar” at Davis & Elkins College.

Eighteen WVWC senior education majors presented findings from action research that was conducted during their final semester. Students from WVWC, Davis & Elkins and Alderson Broaddus entered work in two categories: the written “Teacher Work Sample” and “Visual Representation of Research.”

Of all the student entries, Alan Snodgrass, of Harrisville, WV, was awarded first place in the “Written Teacher Work Sample” category, and Elizabeth Mayfield, of Davisville, WV, earned first place in the “Visual Representation of Research” category. Both Snodgrass and Mayfield were presented with monetary awards for their accomplishments.

Faculty members of the WVWC School of Education are very pleased with the work all of the senior education majors employed in their research this semester.
