Wesleyan Ready to Welcome Back Students

It is once again time for West Virginia Wesleyan administration, faculty and staff to welcome back students before the fall semester begins Monday, Aug. 20. This year, the College will welcome 479 new students to campus.

The weekend on campus will be abuzz with activities and preparing for the school year. It all begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, when students and their families begin moving into the dorms. The rest of the day will include orientation, meeting professors, the traditional lunch for students and their families at home of Wesleyan President Dr. Pamela Balch ’71, and the picnic dinner on the lawn of Agnes Howard Hall.

Also on Saturday, students have the opportunity to find out more about local services and businesses at The Bobcat Fair, and participate in worship services in Wesley Chapel with a Convocation and Catholic Mass.

Registration for students will take place throughout Sunday.

This year’s freshman class has 75 students whose high school grade point average was 4.0. The class has an an average grade point average of 3.38. These freshmen hail from 21 different states and six countries. Most students are from West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio.
