She posts blogs for a national news network, watches tomorrow’s TV show be filmed, and attends daily phone conferences with producers.  West Virginia Wesleyan College student Kelsey Ognibene, from Ridgeley, WV, does not have your average internship.  Ognibene, an English major with minors in political science and honors, has spent the fall semester working with Chuck Todd on The Daily Rundown in Washington D.C.

In addition to the duties listed above, Ognibene also transcribes and verbates videos that go on NBC’s website, constructs tables and charts that Chuck uses on the show, and performs a variety of other tasks.  Ognibene says that as the election drew nearer, each day brought a different responsibility, teaching the college senior a variety of skills that will be useful after graduation in the spring.

When asked about her future plans, Ognibene says, “I definitely want to come back to DC. I know I want to work in politics, and I know I want to be able to use my English major to write, like I do on the blog, more extensively and in-depth. I would love to work for an online media company like The Huffington Post or Politico.”

In addition to her impressive work experience, Ognibene is also a sister of Alpha Gamma Delta, a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Lamda Delta honoraries, and a poetry editor for The Vandalia.
