Office of Admission to Host Bobcat Prospective Athlete Day

Monday, January 7th, 2013

West Virginia Wesleyan College and the Office of Admission will hold its annual Bobcat Prospective Athlete Day this Saturday, January 12 on the College’s campus.

The Office of Admission would like to invite all students interested in playing NCAA Division II varsity athletics to attend the event.  Coaches and representatives from all 19 varsity programs will be available to speak with students and their families about what it is like to be a Bobcat student- athlete at West Virginia Wesleyan.

The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the check-in at the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts and will include presentations by both the Office of Admission and the Athletic Department, sessions with individual team coaches, an Academic Department Fair, and a tour of campus.

“This is our third year hosting the Bobcat Prospective Athlete Day,” stated John Waltz, director of Admission.  “It’s a very exciting day on-campus that we designed to give student-athletes the opportunity to see what being an athlete at Wesleyan is all about.  Our student-athletes excel in both athletic and academic arenas, and we wanted to give the best picture of that life to high school seniors.”

The day will conclude with the women and men’s basketball teams taking on Davis & Elkins College at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.

Interested students can sign up online at or by contacting the Office of Admission directly at 800.922.7733.
