Illinois Trio to Perform Concert

NEOTERIC, a unique trio from the University of Southern Illinois—Carbondale will perform in Loar Auditorium at West Virginia Wesleyan College on Monday, April 15, at 7:30 pm. This trio is the only one of its kind, combining the bassoon, cello, and french horn. They perform a wide range of musical styles, from Renaissance to Classical, Cole Porter to Contemporary.
Trio members are Eric Lenz (cello), Melissa Mackey (bassoon), and Jennifer Presar (horn). Presar is the daughter of Sandra and the late Charles I. Presar, both Wesleyan professor emeriti and founding members of Upshur Arts Alliance, Inc. The group’s visit is sponsored by UAA and Wesleyan’s Department of Music.
Along with their public performance, they will hold a master class for Wesleyan students and members of the Buckhannon-Upshur High School band.
The Monday evening concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in the Loar Memorial Room.
