Molly Full Named Barbara Paul Robinson Scholar

Thursday, April 4th, 2013

West Virginia Wesleyan College senior Molly Full, an English writing and environmental studies major and economics and honors minor from Vienna, WV, was named a 2013 Barbara Paul Robinson Scholar by the Appalachian College Association.  The $2,500 scholarship was awarded based on Full’s academic standing and original essay describing her personal and academic background and professional goals as a conscientious attorney.

“I initially applied for this award because it would help me offset the high costs of living and attending law school in New York City, where I hope to represent Appalachia well,” stated Full.  “However, I realized that this scholarship would give me more than just funding for my legal education.  Rather, I now have the chance to connect with a successful and multi-talented woman whom I am very quickly coming to view as a role model for my future.”

During her time at the College, Full has been busy building a resume to prepare her for her graduate work.  She is a Resident Director with campus life, a sister of Zeta Tau Alpha, President of the Honors Program, senior class president, coordinator of WE LEAD’s Eco/Sustainability team, ESL tutor, intern at the WV River’s Coalition, and a volunteer at the Rubenstein Juvenile Delinquent Center.  She is also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Kappa Phi, and Omicron Delta Kappa honorary societies.

However, Full understands that without Wesleyan, these opportunities would have never crossed her path.

“West Virginia Wesleyan allowed me to discover qualities within me which I never knew existed,” commented Full.  “The personal atmosphere found at Wesleyan allowed me to shine and grow into an individual who I am proud to be today.  With the help of my advisers and peers, I feel as if I have made a true impact on the school, the community, and the lives of others.  I could not ask have asked for a more valuable experience than this.”

The Barbara Paul Robinson Scholarship is named in honor of a New York City attorney who provided services to the organization.  The annual scholarship is awarded to an ACA college student who shows great interest and potential to be an attorney and is dedicated to making a positive change in Appalachia.
