Dates for Summer Planetarium Schedule Released

The Planetarium at West Virginia Wesleyan College has released show dates for the July and August seasons.
July 6- Building the Universe. Deep under Geneva Switzerland, the Large Hadron collider might offer clues about the big bang; meanwhile investigators probe the origin of the planets and the makeup of stardust.
July 20- The Magic School Bus: Sees Stars. In this episode of the series, the class wants to buy Dorothy Ann a star, but before they buy a real star, they blast off to inspect the merchandise.
August 3- Ring World: The Story of Cassini. This video tells the story of the Cassini mission to Saturn, including the descent and landing of the Huygen probe on Saturn’s largest moon Titan.
August 17- Bill Nye: The Moon. In this episode, Bill Nye takes us on an out-of-this-world experience as he explains the orbit and phases of the moon.
Shows begin at 8 p.m. on the second floor of Christopher Hall. No reservations are required, and tickets can be purchased at the door. Ticket prices are $3 for adults, $2 for students and seniors, and free to those under 18 years of age. Each planetarium showing includes a tour of the evening sky with free sky charts available, and there will be telescope observation following the shows if weather permits.
