The American Scholar Program provides a full, four-year scholarship to Wesleyan that includes tuition, room, and board.  The first and second runners-up will receive four-year scholarships of $5,000 and $2,500 respectively in addition to other Wesleyan academic awards.

Students from Barbour, Braxton, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, Lewis, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, Randolph, Ritchie, Taylor, Tucker, and Upshur Counties are eligible for the scholarship competition.

Students can apply online at www.magicscholar.com or submit a paper application to West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Office of Admission. Scholarship candidates are required to send the College their high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores. All application materials must be submitted before October 14, 2013 at midnight.

“The American Scholar Program provides opportunities for every student who applies for the scholarship,” noted Dr. Pamela Balch, president of the College. “Our admission staff ensures that every competitor receives information about every scholarship offered at the College. The program is designed to be a life-changing opportunity, not just for the winner, but also for every applicant. Our partnership with Magic 106.5 and now 95.5 BTQ and our other sponsors have created one of the most unique scholarship programs in the nation.”

The program is sponsored by West Virginia Wesleyan College, in conjunction with West Virginia Radio Corporation, and the law firm, Columbo & Stuhr, PLLC.
