Concert Band to Present Spring Concert
Friday, April 25th, 2014
The West Virginia Wesleyan College Concert Band will perform their spring concert on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Culpepper Auditorium of the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts on the Buckhannon campus.
The concert will feature Slavonic Dances No. 8 by Antonin Dvorak, Hymn to Yerevan by Alan Hovhaness, When We are in Deepest Need by Johann Sebastian Bach, Sinfonia Hungarica by Robert Jager, and movements from English Folk Song by Ralph Vaughn Williams.
The ensemble is under the dual direction of Dr. James Moore, associate professor of music, and Logan Lindsey, director of bands. This will be Lindsey’s first concert at Wesleyan, as he began his tenure this semester.
“The students and I have had a blast preparing the music for this concert,” he said. “I am personally excited that this will be my first official function as the new director of bands here at Wesleyan, and I hope everyone comes out to hear the student’s hard work in action.”
The event is free and open to the public.
