Wesleyan Receives $2 Million Scholarship Gift

West Virginia Wesleyan College has received an estate gift from Clarksburg native Elizabeth Musci in excess of $2 million.  The bequest will establish a permanent scholarship endowment for Harrison County students who attend the private, residential United Methodist related-school.

The Edmund C. Denham and Lucille Denham Scholarship is named in honor of Musci’s late parents.  Wesleyan’s benefactor was United Methodist by faith and attended the College in the 1940’s.

Musci lived her entire life in the same house in Clarksburg.  She enjoyed traveling and following area sports teams and wanted her wealth to assist future generations of college students.

“We are extremely grateful for this most generous estate gift,” stated Wesleyan President Pamela Balch.  “Many students from Harrison County have selected Wesleyan as their college home for 124 years.  This scholarship will provide access to hundreds of future West Virginia Wesleyan College students.”
