Mrs. Porter is responsible for the overall management of the Writing Center. Her focus is on recruiting and training peer writing consultants, planning strategies to attract students, and managing the budget. She is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Center including scheduling and supervision of peer consultants, managing the files, and looking for new opportunities to help the Writing Center operate more effectively. She will, on occasion, be available to tutor students.

Shelley Mayhew

Shelly is a junior International Studies and History major from Parkersburg, WV.  She is a member of the Cross Country and Track teams and a fourth year consultant at the Writing Center.  She is also an ESL tutor and member of Alpha Gamma Delta.

Zak Ritchie

Zak is a senior history and political science major form Ravenswood, WV.  Zak’s future plans include pursuing a law degree and working in politics or government.  Zak also is co-Editor-in-Chief for The Pharos, the college’s student newspaper.  This is Zak’s third year as a writing consultant.

Jennifer Elkins

Jennifer is a sophomore from Hurricane, WV, majoring in English.  She is involved in the Honors Program, The Pharos, the Academic Affairs Committee, and SIFE. This is Jennifer's second year as a writing consultant.

Sarah Wilkinson

Sarah is a junior from Beckley, WV. She is a history and English double major. She is co-Editor-in-Chief of the campus newspaper, The Pharos, secretary of history honor society Phi Alpha Theta, and Membership Chair of Mortar Board. She is also involved in the Honors Program and is a Freshman Seminar Student Leader. This is Sarah’s second year as a writing consultant.
