Activities

The intellectual stimulation fostered by the Honors Program is not limited to the classroom. The Honors Program also sponsors a series of extracurricular opportunities, both on and off campus, that allow members of the program to experience both culture and discourse. Recent activities are listed below.

On Campus Activities:

  • Honors House (upperclassmen)

  • Student organized film festivals

  • Catered talk-back discussions after campus theatrical performances and films

  • Luncheons with faculty and guest lecturers at College colloquia

  • Mentoring program for international students

  • Gallery discussion sessions with art professors

Off Campus Activities:

  • Fall retreat to the Mountain Institute at Spruce Knob, the highest elevation in West Virginia  

  • Picnic for incoming freshmen at the home of the President 

  • Trips to the Pittsburgh Opera and the Pittsburgh Ballet 

  • Trips to Charleston, WV for musical and theater productions   

  • Graduation Picnic for seniors at the President of the College’s house.
