Hannah Vet Named MEC Female Athlete of the Year

West Virginia Wesleyan softball standout Hannah Vet has been named the Mountain East Conference Female Athlete of the Year for 2016-17.

Vet, a junior from Naples, Fla., went 28-4 with a 0.94 ERA in the circle for the Lady Bobcats. She ranked second in the country in ERA and 10th in victories. She struck out 149 batters in 216 innings, and was sixth in the country in walks per seven innings (0.58).

In addition to earning MEC Pitcher of the Year accolades, Vet was also tabbed as an NFCA All-American. She helped Wesleyan to its first NCAA Atlantic Region title and an appearance in the College World Series. The MEC Female Athlete of the Year is selected by a vote of institutional administrators and the conference office.
