WV Scholar Finalists Announced

Ten finalists have been named for the 11st West Virginia Scholar program. These West Virginia juniors are still in the running for a full-ride scholarship to West Virginia Wesleyan College.

The ten finalists are Elysia Cain of Liberty High School, Courtney Gray of Grafton High School, Sarah Heilman of Wheeling Park High School, Jackson Johnson of George Washington High School, Cole Kleppner of Musselman High School, Katherine Marks of Brooke High School, Easton Perry of Ripley High School, ShaiAnne Williams of Webster County High School, and Bailey Withrow of Greenbrier East High School.

Online voting will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, May 30 at www.wvmetronews.com and will continue through Friday, June 15. The scholarship winner will be announced June 21 at the 2018 WV Scholar Awards Luncheon to be held on Wesleyan’s campus.

The West Virginia Scholar program is a partnership between MetroNews and Wesleyan. Other sponsors include the West Virginia Hospital Association; ZMM Architects; Friends of Coal; West Virginia Forestry Association; Architectural Interior Products, INC; RBC Wealth Management, West Virginia Farm Bureau, and KOMAX Business Systems.
