Michele Cooper ’95 recently was presented the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Philadelphia Fellow Award. It is the highest honor an AIGA chapter can bestow upon one of its members.
The award recognizes designers who have made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within the local and regional design community as well as the Philadelphia AIGA chapter. The areas of education, writing, leadership and reputation, as well as the practice of design are given equal consideration in measuring significant contribution.
A long-tie advocate for the graphic design community, Cooper has been involved with the Philadelphia chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design, since 1999. She has served as president of the executive board, and chair of the AIGA Philadelphia Design Awards. Cooper has also sat on AIGA’s national task force for diversity.
Cooper received a bachelor of arts from West Virginia Wesleyan College in graphic design and is a founding partner of Cooper Graphic Design.
