Mar 16, 2019

West Virginia Wesleyan College works with the Buckhannon community on a regular basis. One of the organizations that gives back to the community is the WE LEAD program. Within that program is the WE LEAD Poverty Reduction issue team. The Poverty Reduction team has worked with various organizations such as Literacy Volunteers of Upshur County, Stockert Youth Center, Upshur County Parish House, and Chapel Hill UMC. One of the main events the Poverty Reduction team offers is the community dinners that they try to hold once a month. These dinners are FREE to the community and anyone is welcome to come. This month they will host the dinner at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church (88 S Kanawha Street). They will be serving a sit-down dinner at this location, along with packing to-go dinners to hand out in the community at various local locations. The dinner will be held on Saturday, March 16th at Chapel Hill at 5 PM. This is also the time volunteers will be handing out the packaged dinners. They will be serving chicken wraps with a side of pasta salad and a freshly baked cookie. Please come join the Wesleyan students to enjoy an evening of great good and conversation. If you have any questions please feel free to call Ammanda at (304) 406-8788.
