Wesleyan to Hold Virtual Commencement Ceremony on May 2

West Virginia Wesleyan will hold the College’s first-ever Virtual Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 2 at 10:00 am.  Wesleyan will recognize 319 members of the Class of 2020.  The group includes 269 undergraduates and 50 graduate students including two doctor of nurse practitioners.

A Special Commencement Committee consisting of students, faculty, and staff has been meeting regularly to develop plans for the past month.  A separate production team of faculty and staff are putting the final touches on the event this week.

The ceremony will feature slide shows of submitted candid photos from the Class of 2020, greetings from President Joel Thierstein, remarks by Maggie Lohmann, senior class president, and Gavin Appleby, chair of the Board of Trustees.  Dr. James Moore, Dean, will read the names of the graduates and other greetings will be delivered by a number of faculty, staff, and coaches.  The ceremony will conclude with a special Wesleyan Concert Chorale rendition of “My Home Among the Hills,” by E.J. James, Jr.
