West Virginia Wesleyan College looks forward to welcoming students back for in-person instruction during spring of 2022.   As we return to campus, the College is electing to require all students to submit the results of a COVID-19 test prior to arrival for move-in and registration, regardless of vaccination status.  The State of West Virginia has also mandated testing of all college campuses (students, faculty, and staff) as they arrive to campus for in-person instruction.

While we acknowledge that this request is being made with short notice, our COVID-19 safety and leadership teams are learning in real-time about the trends of COVID-19 and the Omicron Variant and requirements as provided by the State of West Virginia and Higher Education Policy Commission (WVHEPC).  The prior-to-arrival testing is imperative so that we can protect our students, faculty, staff, and community members and so that students might be able to isolate prior to arrival if necessary.

Students should submit negative test results to the email covidtest@wvwc.edu by end-of-day Saturday, January 8th.  Students who test positive through this initial testing should immediately contact the COVID-19 hotline at 304-473-8274 for guidance regarding isolation, arrivals, and other protocols.   If you cannot arrange a test before your arrival, you must contact covidtest@wvwc.edu or the hotline so that we might assist you with arrangements for testing.

In addition, the WVHEPC is both funding and requiring rapid testing of all college campuses (students, faculty, and staff), regardless of vaccination status, upon arrival to all campuses for spring of 2022.   WVWC arrival testing will be held on Sunday, January 9th from Noon-5:00 PM and Monday, January 10th from 10:00 AM-Noon in the Performing Arts Center.   Prior to going to their residence halls or attending registration activities, students must come to be tested and will be provided a bracelet indicating a completed test.

The College strongly encourages all students, faculty, and staff to get fully vaccinated, including boosted, immediately against COVID-19. We are proud of the progress our campus community has made to date.  We look forward to a successful spring semester and to welcoming students back to campus.
