research: Dr. Rupp began teaching at Wesleyan in 1989. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University, and a Master of Science and Ph.D. from Syracuse University. He serves on the faculty in both History and Political Science. He is the author of several publications, including The Primary that made a President: Kennedy and the 1960 Battleground in West Virginia, a book published by West Virginia University Press. Dr. Rupp has served as scriptwriter and narrator on documentary films, and has presented lectures at conferences and meetings throughout the state and across the country. He is the recipient of several grants from the West Virginia Humanities Council and the U.S. Department of Education, including several to assist in the professional development of public school history teachers in West Virginia.
