Virtual Honors Events

Ashley Lawson, Honors Program Director, invites you to join us for one of the upcoming virtual events to learn what the Honors Program has to offer and how it can benefit you during your time at West Virginia Wesleyan. During the event, Professor Lawson will discuss program requirements, introduce you to current Honors students who will explain why the program matters to them, and answer any questions you might have.  Please join us at one of the following events:

Saturday, March 20th
Virtual Black and Orange Day (Honors Program overview to follow at 2PM)
Register to attend by clicking here.

Monday, April 5th  at 6:30PM
Honors Program Overview

Honors Scholarship
You may or may not know that we also offer an Honors scholarship for our incoming students. Now is the time to apply for that if you qualify, so complete the application by clicking here.

Honors Program Petition
We know that nothing has been normal about the past year, and that includes your high school education, college prep opportunities, and the application process. The usual requirements for an incoming Honors student are a 3.5 or above high school G.P.A. and a 1200 SAT score or 27 one-time ACT score.

However, if you know that you are “Honors-worthy” but do not meet one of these criteria, we still encourage you to apply to join us! You will just need to fill out the Honors Admit Petition by clicking here, and email it to lawson_a@wvwc.edu. That gives you a chance to explain why your G.P.A. is lower than you had aimed for, why your test scores are not quite high enough, why you were not able to take the tests at all, etc.

These qualifications are the most efficient way for us to spot Honors students, but they are not the only qualifications that matter.  If you think the Honors Program is right for you and will add to your WVWC experience, there is a great chance that you will be a good fit, so get in touch!
