Assistant Director of Campus Life

The Assistant Director is a 12 month live-in position and reports directly to the Director of Campus Life.  A Master’s degree is preferred, but Bachelor’s degree is required, with a minimum of three years of housing/residence life and supervisory experience.

  • Serves as a member of the central office of Campus Life staff
  • Resides on campus
  • Supervises Resident Directors and Graduate Assistants
  • Supervises 35 Resident Assistants
  • Coordinates and maintains assessment initiatives for the office
  • Coordinates and tracks programming in all residence halls with the graduate assistant support
  • Adjudicates minor student conduct infractions
  • Develops, in consultation with the Director of Campus Life, residence hall policies aimed at assuring health and safety, as well as enriching the social, cultural, and intellectual growth of students
  • Ensures compliance within the residence halls of al student life policies
  • Works to build pride in the residence halls through planning, developing, and implementing (with assistance of residence hall staff) around a prescribed residential curriculum
  • Oversees the resident assistant selection process
  • Plans, with the Director of Campus Life, and implements fall and spring GA/RD/RA training, inservices and professional development workshops
  • Assists with the supervision of Graduate Assistants
  • Participates in an On-call duty rotation
  • Records charges for damages
  • Serves as a liaison on various campus committees and assists with advising of student groups as needed
  • Performs general office duties as needed

Qualifications, REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Residence Life experience
  • Position subject to background check

Qualifications, PREFERRED:

  • Master’s degree in higher education or related field
