West Virginia Wesleyan College invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Communication starting August 2022. Appointment to tenure track is possible if the qualifications of the successful applicant and the needs of the institution align. A Ph.D. in Communication is preferred, but ABD will be considered if the degree is in hand within the first year of employment.

The successful candidate will prioritize teaching, mentoring, and advising students, while maintaining a scholarly agenda and participating in committee work. Teaching responsibilities will include instruction of Fundamentals of Communication, an undergraduate course, following the course design set forth by the Communication Chair. In addition, candidates must be able to teach in the Communication and Media Communication major classes, including, but not limited to Persuasion, Argument & Evidence, Small Group Communication, Public Relations, and Social Media. The ability to develop courses in the new general education program is also ideal.
