Graduate Residence Director for Programming

The Graduate Director for Programming is a live-in 10 month, 2 year commitment, overseeing a residence hall of up to 150 and a staff of 4-5 Resident Assistants, with responsibilities of using a wide range of media to design, promote, and disseminate information for Bobcat Entertainment and for planning, and covering programs for the office. Applicants must be accepted into one of West Virginia Wesleyan College’s graduate programs (M.B.A., MSN, or MSAT) before being considered for the position. The stipend includes tuition, full room and board, and $3,500. Hours include weekday office hours, varied weeknight hours and duty rotation. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Campus Life and the Director of Campus Life.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the daily operation of a 150 student residence hall
  • Supervises 4 – 5 RA’s, with programming, discipline, administrative duties
  • Participates in weeknight and weekend duty rotation with professional staff
  • Works closely with the Assistant Director of Campus Life  to assist in the preparation, promotion and implementation of Bobcat Entertainment events
  • Assists with advising of Bobcat Entertainment committees
  • Coordinates with the Assistant Director to ensure coverage of weekend events
  • Works closely with the Assistant Director to assist with all aspects of RA Programming
  • Participates in Residence Life On-Call duty rotation
  • Works with the college’s webmaster to update the Bobcat Entertainment webpage
  • Works daily office hours

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of various computer programs, i.e. MS Office, Outlook, Adobe, Publisher, etc.
  • Knowledge of all types of social media advertising
  • Creativity
  • Basic Event planning

 

Qualifications, REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Residence Life and Programming experience
  • Acceptance into a master’s level program at West Virginia Wesleyan College
  • Position subject to background check
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Position begins August 1 of each year and ends May 31 of each year

 

Qualifications, PREFERRED:

  • Resident Director experience
  • PR and Programming experience
