The LBP Clinician is responsible for teaching in the clinical reading program at West Virginia Wesleyan College using Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes. Teaching in this program involves diagnostic and prescriptive teaching of students with reading, spelling and language processing needs; collaborating with the LBP Coordinator and other LBP clinicians in testing, consulting and pacing the students enrolled in LBP. This is a part-time position with an appointment that begins in early August and ends in May of each year. However, the College currently has an immediate opening. Additionally, this job is under terms of employment and classification for part-time staff as described in the Staff/Administrative Personnel Handbook.

Supervised by:   Coordinator of LBP Reading and the Director of the Learning Center

Supervises:   Student workers as assigned


1. Teach approximately 20-25 clinical hours of one-on-one instruction with LiPS, V-V, and/or Application.
2. Attend weekly one hour in-service and clinical consultation meetings.
3. Participate actively in the diagnostic-prescriptive process both within individual teaching sessions and by collaborating in the team assessment of individual student progress and pacing.
4. Under the supervision of the LBP coordinator, administer and score specific pre/posttest instruments in the assessment process.
5. Give collaborative input on program needs, standards, and effectiveness.
6. Report staff/student concerns and material needs/supplies as they arise.
7. Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of LBP Reading and the Director of the Learning Center

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in education or other liberal arts field, experience in teaching or in tutoring individuals, and the ability to be trained in Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes. The LBP Clinician shall possess strong phoneme awareness and language comprehension skills, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment with other professionals and constituencies.
