WV Wesleyan College is seeking a Registrar/Academic Services Specialist/Special Terms Coordinator. This is an entry level position of 37.5 hour per week. The position is responsible for assisting with the vital function of the Academic Services/Registrar’s Office and ensures accurate and confidential maintenance of all student academic records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Serves as a point of entry to the Registrar’s Office by greeting walk-in students/faculty/staff/others, answering the office telephone, and monitoring the general office email account
- Processes transcript requests
- Assigns classrooms each academic term and manages handicapped accessibility requests
- Completes student enrollment and degree verifications
- Coordinates and oversees two special graduate terms – M.F.A and M.A. programs
- Participates in all activities associated with course registration and grading specifically managing the roster verification process, internship/directed study process, and incomplete grades
- Scans and files documents in the electronic imaging system
- Provides general academic information and support to students, faculty, and staff and answers questions related to advising, academic processes and policies
- Coordinates the FYEX advisor transition process for first year students
- Supervises student workers and orders office supplies
- Completes other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience preferred in a Registrar’s Office or related office work
- Strong technological skills, especially in a student information system and Microsoft Office
- Ability to collaborate with various offices and personnel on campus
- Effective organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize projects
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
