WVWC is seeking qualified, dedicated candidates for the position of Assistant VP for Athletics. This position is responsible for assisting the VP for Athletics in the planning, directing, coordinating and overall management of the College’s intercollegiate athletic program in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines established by the College, the Mountain East Conference and the NCAA. This position is also responsible for assisting with management of home games, executing successful game-day initiatives and Athletic Department sponsored special events.

Responsibilities and Duties
The Assistant VP for Athletics aids in numerous duties and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the sports programs and will work closely with assigned programs.

• Oversees and assists with all aspects of day-to-day department operations, game operations and event set up, including oversight of concessions and special event activities
• Assists with planning, organization and oversight of department fund raising events
• Supervise assigned subordinate personnel
• Assist the VP for Athletics with financing and budgeting, and ensure compliance with the college rules and laws as well as NCAA regulations
• Provide input into strategic decisions
• Resolve issues of operation and coordination in other departments
• Implementation of new athletic programs and policies
• Maintain important documentation pertaining to athletic program activities and events
• Assist with management of various aspects of MEC and NCAA Compliance
• Serve as a member of the Senior Leadership team
• Other duties as assigned

• Demonstrates an ability to evaluate and develop athletic programs, activities, and events. The individual should also be able to effectively evaluate these programs and provide related recommendations.
• Has the ability to adapt to varying social environments. These can include training grounds and competition areas, as well as interacting with students, administrators, parents, etc.

General Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in fields relating to Education, Higher Ed. Administration, or Sports Administration; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Three or more years of leadership and managerial experience.
• A minimum of three to five years’ experience working within an athletic department (high school or collegiate level).
