WVWC is seeking a dedicated assistant soccer coach to support the development and success of our soccer program. The ideal candidate will have experience in coaching, player development, and team strategy, with a strong understanding of the game. This role involves assisting the head coach in training sessions, game preparation, recruitment, and mentoring student-athletes to achieve their full potential on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist in planning and conducting training sessions, drills, and team strategies.
● Support the head coach in game-day preparation, tactics, and in-game adjustments.
● Assist with recruitment efforts by evaluating prospective student-athletes.
● Monitor student-athlete academic progress and provide mentorship.
● Help organize team logistics, including travel arrangements and equipment management.
● Ensure compliance with all [conference, league, or NCAA/NAIA] regulations and team policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
● Bachelor’s degree preferred in Sports Management, exercise science, or relatable field.
● Previous coaching experience at the club, high school, or collegiate level preferred.
● Strong knowledge of soccer tactics, techniques, and training methodologies.
● Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
● Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
● CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications:
- USSF or NSCAA coaching certification(s) (e.g., USSF D License or higher).
- Experience in recruiting and scouting athletes.
- Familiarity with video analysis software and performance tracking tools.
