West Virginia Wesleyan College seeks an innovative and collaborative leader to serve as Director of Graduate Admissions & Operations. Reporting to the Provost, the Director will spearhead recruitment and operational initiatives for a diverse suite of programs, including nursing, counseling, athletic training, business, creative writing, and the forthcoming Physician Assistant program. The Director will drive enrollment growth, coordinate recruitment efforts, improve admissions processes, and support the success of all graduate offerings in alignment with the College’s mission and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement creative recruitment strategies to increase graduate enrollment across all programs to meet recruitment and enrollment goals
- Evaluate and enhance admissions processes with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and delivering a positive applicant experience
- Build strong working relationships with Graduate Program Directors and faculty to tailor recruitment approaches for each program
- Collaborate on the creation of engaging social media, web, print, and digital marketing content that showcases graduate programs
- Develop innovative strategies—including digital engagement, personalized outreach, and alumni networks—to recruit high-quality, diverse candidates
- Advance the visibility and enrollment of certificate and micro-credential programs through targeted recruitment, marketing, and partnership initiatives
- Coordinate and participate in graduate recruitment events, conferences, and community outreach
- Maintain accurate applicant records, support smooth operations, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and accreditation requirements
- Monitor and interpret key data on recruitment, enrollment, and student outcomes to guide continuous improvement
- Serve as a key resource for prospective students, providing clear, supportive guidance from inquiry through enrollment
- Collaborate with admissions, academic departments, registrar, and student support services for coordinated student onboarding and progression
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Candidates with substantial experience in higher education or related fields may be considered
- Demonstrated success in graduate or professional program admissions, recruitment, or related roles
- Experience with creative recruitment methods and data-driven decision making
- Knowledge of best practices in graduate admissions, compliance, and student support
- Collaborative leadership skills and ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and external partners
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with trends and innovations in graduate education, including online and hybrid formats
