West Virginia Wesleyan College seeks a qualified individual to serve as Mail Services Coordinator. Reporting to the college’s Director of Administrative Services, the Mail Services Coordinator directs operations of the Post Office. This is a full-time, 12- month position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises part-time and student employees in the Post Office in accordance with the College’s policies and procedures.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
1. Responsible for mail pick-up at the downtown Buckhannon USPS Office
2. Prepares outbound mail for shipping
3. Ensures that Mail, including UPS and FedEx, is sorted and placed in proper mail boxes
4. Assigns and maintains student mailboxes
5. Repair broken mail boxes and change combination on mail boxes as needed
6. Orders postage and stamps as needed, sell postage and stamps to students, faculty and staff
7. Responsible for Post Office accounting and preparing daily/monthly reports
8. Responsible for daily cash receipts and deposits at the Office of Student Accounts
9. Additional duties that may be required
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of students, visitors, friends of the College and other employees of the College.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rates, percentages and ratios.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
