West Virginia Wesleyan College is accepting applications for the position of Staff Accountant. This position will support various aspects of the finance and accounting operations and is a full-time professional, 12-month appointment with excellent benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review expense reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Follow up of unsubmitted expense reports for credit card transactions
  • Amazon and Office Depot ordering, tracking and reconciling
  • Assist with account reconciliations
  • Miscellaneous data entry
  • Collection of prior student debt
  • Assist with IRS reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules
  • Provide backup support for the finance department (AP, payroll, business office)
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and two years of higher education or business experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; organizational skills; computer experience; and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Results-oriented professional capable of working independently and creatively with a diverse constituency of students, faculty and staff
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word and Excel
