West Virginia Wesleyan
Nursing Advantage Program
West Virginia Wesleyan College is thrilled to announce The Nursing Advantage Program for freshman students enrolling in pre-nursing in Fall of 2022! Recently, West Virginia Wesleyan College was awarded $1,000,000 through West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice’s Nursing Workforce Expansion Program, which is designed to address the state’s nursing shortage through a multifaceted approach to attract, train, and retain nurses in the Mountain State. You can read more about the grant by clicking here.
Students enrolling in The Nursing Advantage Program will have access to new, state-of-the-art equipment and training and to Wesleyan’s unparalleled instruction and student support. In addition, each student in the program will receive a Dell Laptop Computer, $1,000 for the first year to fund books and supplies, and a $2,000 first-year scholarship stipend. Up to 60 students will be selected so we recommend applying as soon as you can.

What are the qualifications?
To qualify for consideration to The Nursing Advantage Program, you must be accepted for admissions to West Virginia Wesleyan College as a first-time, full-time freshman student for Fall of 2022. You must also choose Nursing as your major of choice through pre-registration and enrollment in the fall. It is expected that recipients continue in the nursing major and graduate from West Virginia Wesleyan College.
How will students be selected?
Committed Students: Students who have already deposited for Fall of 2022 to West Virginia Wesleyan College will be immediately considered for the program if they complete pre-registration beginning on April 11th and choose nursing/pre-nursing as the major of choice.
Accepted Students: Students who have been accepted for admissions but who have yet to deposit should consider depositing before May 1, 2022 with the major choice of nursing/pre-nursing for consideration in the first cohort. We also suggest interested students consider pre-registration beginning on April 11th.
A first wave of offers will be sent to deposited students as of May 1 to be the first students into the program.
All Students: If you haven’t yet applied to West Virginia Wesleyan, there is plenty of time to apply and be considered for the program. Follow the application instructions above. We will consider new applicants on a rolling basis for the program beginning on May 1 and will do so until all spots are filled.
