BUCKHANNON, West Virginia –  West Virginia Wesleyan College has earned several notable distinctions in the 2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges and The Princeton Review rankings, including recognition as a Best Value School, a Top Performer on Social Mobility, and one of the highest-ranked regional colleges in West Virginia.

One of WVWC’s most significant distinctions came in the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Value Schools category, where the College ranked No. 4 among Regional Colleges in the South. WVWC was the only regional college in West Virginia to receive a Best Value ranking in the category, which considers the institution’s academic quality and cost of attendance.

“This year’s recognitions affirm what generations of students and alumni know about West Virginia Wesleyan College – students receive an exceptional education at an exceptional value,” President James Moore said. “We’re proud to offer a highly personalized academic experience that provides students the opportunity to learn inside and outside the classroom as they prepare to lead successful lives. As families increasingly look at both the quality and cost of a college education, we are committed to ensuring that Wesleyan remains affordable, attainable, and predictable for the students we serve.”

The College recently announced a new Tuition Lock Guarantee for students enrolling in Fall 2027 to keep the same tuition rate all four years. Current students enrolled in fall 2026 also have their tuition rate locked through graduation. New initiatives also increase academic scholarships, and programs that may cover tuition costs for West Virginia PROMISE Scholarship recipients and Pell-Grant Eligible students, making a WVWC education more affordable, attainable and predictable. Home Among the Hills is a last-dollar program that means high-achieving West Virginia students with exceptional financial need can qualify for full tuition, guaranteed not to increase. Through the Access Advantage Program, qualifying out-of-state students can receive additional scholarships. Learn more at wwww.wvwc.edu/hereyoucan
