Affordability at West Virginia Wesleyan
New tuition and financial aid programs built around one guarantee: what you pay freshman year is what you pay senior year. That, plus real aid on top, helps more students afford a WVWC degree, whether you're from West Virginia or coming from out of state.
Paying for college shouldn't mean guessing. West Virginia Wesleyan built a set of tuition and financial aid programs that tell you your cost up front, guarantee it from your first semester to your last, and stack real aid on top so a degree stays within reach. Here's how each program works.
Tuition Lock Guarantee
What you pay freshman year is what you pay senior year. Students entering in fall 2027 pay the same tuition for all four years, with no annual increases. Students already enrolled as of fall 2027 get that same guarantee through graduation.
You’ll know your tuition cost before you enroll, and count on it holding for all four years, instead of bracing for a raise every August.
Home Among the Hills
High-achieving West Virginia students with exceptional financial need can qualify for full tuition, guaranteed not to increase.
Home Among the Hills is a last-dollar program: your WV and federal aid (the PROMISE Scholarship, the WV Higher Education Grant, and the Pell Grant) combines with WVWC scholarships, grants, and talent awards. Whatever’s left after that, WVWC covers, so tuition is paid in full.
To qualify, you need to be a West Virginia resident, Pell Grant-eligible, and hold either the Presidential or John Wesley Scholarship (a 3.3 weighted GPA or higher). Athletic scholarship recipients aren’t eligible for this program, though walk-ons and roster athletes without an athletic scholarship can qualify.
Because the Tuition Lock Guarantee applies here too, this coverage holds for all four years, not just your first. Funding is limited, so apply as early as you can.
Wesleyan Promise Plus
WV PROMISE recipients who have demonstrated continued success in the classroom can qualify for a full tuition and fees scholarship.
If you receive the West Virginia PROMISE Scholarship ($5,500), WVWC adds Wesleyan Promise Plus on top of it, so your tuition and fees are covered in full. Wesleyan Promise Plus and Home Among the Hills are separate tracks: you’ll qualify for one or the other, not both.
Any aid beyond your PROMISE Scholarship, whether it’s another WVWC award or outside state and federal aid, applies to tuition and fees first. Room and board aren’t included, so plan to cover those through family resources, a student or parent loan, or similar, and athletic scholarship recipients aren’t eligible for this program. Living on campus is encouraged, though not required: if you move off campus and your total aid runs higher than tuition and fees, your award adjusts down to match, whether that happens in your first term or a later one.

Access Advantage Program
Coming to WVWC from outside West Virginia? Access Advantage helps close the gap between what your home state offers and the cost of attending here.
If a program like the Pennsylvania Higher Education Grant would help you afford school in your own state, Access Advantage applies that same kind of support to WVWC.
Awards average $4,000 and can be combined with WVWC academic scholarships, grants, and select talent awards in the arts and service.
