BUCKHANNON, West Virginia —  West Virginia Wesleyan College will celebrate Spring Weekend April 24-26, paying tribute to faculty and staff members who went above and beyond for students and inviting alumni back to partake in a variety of activities. This includes a special campus life reunion, celebrating the collective legacy of those who shaped student life through Residence Life, Campus Activities and Student Government, along with Spring Weekend traditions like Spring Sing and the Athletic Hall of Fame dinner and ceremony.

The weekend kicks off on Friday, April 24, with two evening events at Buckhannon Opera House. A Campus Life Reunion Reception will begin at 6:30 p.m., offering heavy appetizers and a cash bar and is open to all alumni.

Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs Alisa (Lively) Suttle is retiring after 39  years of service to the College and also leaves an impact in the community where she has served on many boards – including stints as director of Upshur County Special Olympics and president of the West Virginia Strawberry Festival Association.  The community is invited to attend a special “Roast of Alisa” at 8 p.m., also in the Opera House. A $15 registration fee includes access to both Friday evening events. There will be heavy appetizers and a cash bar available.

Saturday, April 25, begins with a meaningful tribute at 10 a.m. in Loar Hall, where the College will dedicate an office in honor of Dr. David Allen Milburn, Professor of Music, Emeritus (1966–2004). Milburn’s nearly four decades of service left a lasting impact on generations of students, and alumni and friends are invited to celebrate his legacy.

From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., alumni can enjoy the BIG Bingo Lunch in the Social Hall of the Benedum Campus Center. The $15 event includes lunch and the chance to win a variety of gift cards, with Suttle serving as the bingo caller for this WVWC tradition.

Young alumni are invited to gather from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Jimbo’s Place for a complimentary networking event with provided appetizers and a cash bar.

The weekend continues with the Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the Benedum Campus Center Social Hall. The $40 registration includes dinner and honors outstanding Bobcat athletes and contributors.

The celebration concludes with Spring Sing at 7:30 p.m. in Wesley Chapel. This year’s performance will feature a fun, 1980s theme and is free and open to the public.  Greek Organizations have been competing in fun, “Greek Week” activities and winners will be announced at this event along with the crowning of Spring Sing Royalty.
